About The Band - Chasing Maya

Hello, I'm Helen, a 6th grade girl from Mill Valley. I enjoy singing, acting, and dancing greatly. My favorite subject in school is History and I currently favor Broadway show tunes out of all the different genres of music. I play basketball on a local team and take jazz dance classes at Roco dance studio. I tend to be a dramatic, dreamy sort of person, (which is neither a compliment nor insult). When it is my time to choose a career, I would like to be a Broadway star, or a meteorologist (odd combination, I know).

Hi, I'm Zach, a 5th grader from Mill Valley. I've been a lover of music ever since I can remember singing, dancing...until my mom put a guitar in my hand. I had always been into music but never realized what to do with it; now I'm a 10 year old playing and singing in a band with other kids. The rest is history!

Hi, I'm Lotus, a 5th grader from Mill Valley. I started banging on percussion instruments before I could walk and seem to have rhythm in my bones. I also love to dance, want to learn the bass and the piano, and look forward every Saturday to seeing my band-mates in Chasing Maya.

Hi, I am Chase McDonald. I am 11 years old and have been playing my bass for about two years. So far I have been enjoying everything that I'm doing in this band. When I was about four I hated music, unless I was in my dads car, always telling him to put on some Rock 'N' Roll. Now I enjoy all music to my ears from Tenacious D to Eminem. My other hobbies are Basketball (although I’m not on a team) and I have always loved using anything electronic.

Hi, I'm Ryan and I am 10 years old and and I play guitar in Chasing Maya. I started playing guitar in 2006 and my musical influences include Linkin Park, 3 Doors Down and Fall Out Boy. When I am not playing music I enjoy playing soccer, football and skateboarding.

Hi, I'm Reed and I am 9 years old and the keyboard player for Chasing Maya. I've been playing piano since I was 6 years old. I joined the band in 2007 and love playing along side my older brother Ryan. My interests include swimming, reading and archery.
